Conquering Mt. Pinatubo

You want to see this majestic view in person? Prepare for a very rough 4×4 ride lasting for an hour and a 3-hour equally rough trekking on rocky areas / lahar mountains. I’m a lover of all things nature but the trek made me think twice if ever I’ll go back again. I heard there’s another route that will only take you 30 minutes but the roads to that were temporarily destroyed due to seasonal landslides. And did I say landslides? We saw one while resting on the crater. It was beautiful, admittedly but frighteningly so.

Anyway, just thought I’d share this beautiful wonder. No one said being beautiful is easy.

Types of Workplace-Related Negligence

Negligent Hiring

Negligent hiring is one of the most common types of work-related negligence. Negligent hiring involves an employer who should have taken more care with their hiring choices: hiring personnel to work in a school environment that has a proven record of discrimination. If that employee commits another discriminatory act, the employer could (in theory) be charged with negligent hiring. Alternatively, employers can be held responsible for their employees’ actions.

Negligent Retention

If an employer wrongfully retains an employee, perhaps not firing an employee after a prior incident that leads to another incident in the future, that employer can be charged with negligent employee retention.

Negligent Supervision

Negligent supervision is closely related to negligent retention. If an employer does not properly monitor an employee’s actions, especially if he or she had prior knowledge of a questionable history, background, or condition, that employer could be charged with negligent supervision. This can also lead to something called “negligent training,” in which an employer fails to properly train an employee about hazardous conditions or unlawful actions.

Negligent Referral

It is the former employer’s responsibility to only make honest and accurate referrals to future employers. If they lie or withhold information about an employee that could have prevented an incident in the future, that employer can be charged with a negligent referral.

Requirements of a Negligence Claim

In order to proceed with a negligence case, you’ll need to prove the following:

Your employer had a legal obligation to provide you a duty of care.
Your employer failed to do so.
Your injury or incident was a direct result of your employer’s negligence.

Age and Vanity

Funny that as soon as I mentioned some of the vicerex side effects to my nephew, he immediately disappeared. I wonder if he isn’t shopping for one right now? Anyway, kids these days are just willing to try anything to keep their body in shape and add energy. I can’t blame them since the world is less forgiving now. Everything is just too fast and everyone puts too much importance on how they look. Gone are the days when you can simply be yourself and enjoy a fun night out with your friends. Luckily for me, I’m not so young (and definitely not old) to be comfortable in my own skin. There are bigger things to worry about – health, future, kids’ education that I’d rather not add to my list anymore.

My client asked me to research for Music Software for his son who is currently into music production. It’s perfect timing since I just spent about two weeks researching for the perfect software and equipment for my husband. We did come up with the whole package (which was supposed to be my Valentine’s Day gift for him) but the total cost was more than I was expecting. We decided to hold it off until we have enough extra funds so we wouldn’t be settling for something that he may not like later on. But lucky for me, I won’t have to spend a lot of time researching for my client. I’ll just hand him the list of stores and equipments that I gathered a week ago and we’ll be all set. I’m sure my husband will die if he sees my client’s budget. It’s a semi-pro musician’s dream if you ask me. Lucky kid.
