Sharing this video that my friend posted on FB. Very cool! Wish we could all do something as creative and even if I don’t get to shoot it, at least be able to travel 10% of the places he has been to.
Oh my! There are so many nice travel deals from Groupon websites lately. It’s unfortunate that they decide to come out when I have no budget left what with my youngest celebrating her first birthday and my eldest’ going to big school in two months. I am so tempted to avail an online cash advance just to hoard some of them. Most of the packages are not just affordable but they are for destinations that I can only reach in my dreams. Okay, maybe not in my dreams but only if ever I have tons of extra cash. There’s one in Misibis Bay – Bicol (about $600 savings), El Nido beach getaway in Palawan ($480 savings) and Asya Boracay ($300-400 discount). Summer is just around the corner. Usually, we go on two out of town trips but since I was so busy tending to the baby and working at the same time, I didn’t get to book anything for our summer vacation. I’m looking at properties similar to Outer Banks beach rentals because not only the whole clan can fit in one of those, but you can also bring all kinds of food and entertainment without paying a huge corkage fee. Of course, there’s the advantage of housekeeping if you stay in a hotel. But we’d rather bring our own helpers so everyone in the family can join the fun without worrying about paying for extra people.
Wow! I just found some really cool bday gifts for dad online! I wish I’ve seen them before I went shopping for my husband’s birthday and for his Christmas presents. I know he will love this leather excursion travel case. He’s into all things old-school and this 1900s-inspired kit definitely fits the bill. It’s made of brown full-grain leather with a hanging hook, four generous pockets with removable case, canvas lining that unsnaps for cleaning up and mesh pocket for wet items. It’s so nice that I am adding this to my wish list so I’d know what to give him next year.
After browsing through several medical job listings, I’ve finally convinced my cousin that there’s a career waiting for her in Chicago. The number of job openings for health related jobs are so many it’s impossible for her not to find one that she likes. With this fact, I’m hoping it will be enough for her to make a decision if she’ll join her longtime partner or not. It’s been a year since they’ve been apart and really need to take the next step.
Since her partner has already started building an empire for his web development business, it’s really just up to my cousin whether she’ll want a new life in Chicago or stay where she is and forget about a future with him. I’m rooting for her to move for several reasons. Her current job, as she plainly puts it, is not exactly a dream. She is single and childless so has no responsibilities whatsoever that could tie her down. She loves him and he could be the one if she chooses to. All she really has to do is pack up and move now that her chances of getting a job is high. Who knows, even if the relationship doesn’t work, it’s still a new city and there are plenty of possibilities waiting to happen.
A friend of mine vacationing in myrtle beach got home with a very bad case of sunburn. She looks like an oompa-loompa except she’s tall and very slim. I guess she got used to the sun in the Philippines and thought her already tan-skinned body can stand the harsh rays. Good thing she’s still on vacation so she can recuperate at home. This friend of mine always ends up having a “situation” whenever she goes out of the country. No matter how many times I tell her to research about the country, she’d still rather rough it. At least, she’s having the time of her life by getting these little adventures.
The Husband is all set for this month’s F1 race in Singapore. He’s purchased all kinds of Ferrari merchandise save for Ferrari parts and have been practicing shooting in various modes. We won’t be coming with him for several reasons so I hope he’ll enjoy his very own “alone time”. He’s like a kid who’s about to see the circus the first time. We’re so lucky that for being able to snag tickets as early as day 1 (while they’re still cheap), got very affordable airfare and free accommodation thanks to our friend Tereeza who lives there.
