Mail services have only become reliable in the last hundred years or so. In the earliest days of communication, there were no official post offices. Traders, fur trappers and merchants carried mail between different towns and forts, and each would establish their own personal prices for stamps.

Now, shipping mail over land feels like an archaic idea. Thankfully, jobseekers today have the opportunity to make use of modern conveniences when it comes to mail (and they can ditch the stamps). If you are looking for an easy way to send your résumé, you are going to need to start looking at the Internet.

Taking Advantage of Email

Hundreds of websites offer email services free of charge. They make money by filling their pages with other interesting content. Many sites that offer email also offer attention-getting headlines, games, social options and other perks designed to get you to look around at the rest of the pages after you have checked your mail. You can take advantage of the free mail to your heart’s content, and chances are you already have. Email today is so ubiquitous; many companies and corporations offer accounts to their employees.

If you haven’t got an email address, you are limiting what you can do with and on the Internet. Many sites require an email address (and little more than that) before allowing people to take advantage of all their services.

Accessing Job Portals

Lots of people regularly hunt for new jobs and opportunities, either to gain new clients or otherwise advance their careers. If you are applying to a lot of jobs (or even just one job) you need an easy way to send your résumé quickly to employers. To make that happen, you are going to need email (but sometimes email alone may not be enough).

Utilizing Fax Technology

Few individuals have a fax machine in their home offices, but many employers ask applicants to send a faxed copy of resumes. But you don’t have to run right out and buy a new machine, or run around trying to find a business which will fax your résumé for you.
The Internet offers some of the best fax technologies. Accessing the best email faxing with Metrofax, you will be able to send your resume in .PDF form to potential employers quickly and easily. MetroFax services are just as easy as sending an email, and all you need to get started is an email address.

Your time is valuable, especially when you are working on getting a job. You have to send resumes, but you also have to be aware of how much time it takes to do so. Email faxing makes it easy for you to get your name and information out there without ever leaving the comforts of your home.

Just ticked off barcode scanner from the list of things that I need to buy online for my client. There’s about 20 more items but I couldn’t complain. Shopping gives me a high even if the item that I’m buying is not for me. It could even be as boring as purchasing a dedicated server or something important like a $2500 worth of domain names. Of course, nothing beats buying clothes and shoes for myself but since I am on a tight budget right now, I’d be happy to just shop for my clients instead. After all, I’d get paid to shop for them which means that at the end of the day, I will have extra cash to spend on myself!

The husband will not stop complaining about his phone’s network that I’ve started wondering if a wireless cellular booster could help. Unlike our friends and co-workers, we are not fans of changing mobile numbers any chance we can get. So rather than moving to another network, he’ll probably buy a new sim card and still keep his old number. Who knew who could be contacting him from the past? Seriously, a friend of ours managed to find a long lost friend – not via Facebook, I tell you, but because he hasn’t changed his number for the last 10 years. How cool is that? But I digress. We really need a signal booster not just for our mobiles but for our cable Internet too.

They are far from cheap but for places with very weak cellphone signals, I think this is a great investment. After all, being disconnected from the outside world can be liberating for one or two weeks. But if you plan on staying / living in that area for years to come, it’s important to have a decent connection both for work and emergency situations.

My husband always complains about phone network. He can’t send messages when we’re in our room so he always goes out near the terrace whenever he’s replying to a text or calling someone. He doesn’t want to switch and change his number because he hates sending people his new number. He doesn’t like it when people change their numbers almost every year just because of a new phone. Anyway, I told him to consider getting a cellular booster antenna or just keep his old number and get another plan from another network. That way, he gets to keep his old number and then also enjoy the benefits of a new phone plan while he’s at it.

I heard the long lines will be much brutal this year plus the weather hasn’t been cooperating for the last few days.

Still, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that our cousin will get a good deal and not only that, that he may be able to grab one of the $89-wort DS Lites from Walmart’s Local ad. That is, if he’s not planing to buy one for his daughter. I was told you can only get one item per person which totally sucks as I’m planning to sell some laptops to my friends.

Instead of buying gifts for my friends overseas, I’ll just get them online gift cards. The choices are unlimited – from Dell, Zappos, Amazon, JC Penney, Foot Locker and many more! I should’ve thought of this sooner. I know I would personally love to get one so I can shop for what I really want.

I checked the DELL cards and they have $25, $50, and $100 denominations that you can use for cash back on laptops, desktops, printers and other electronics. This will be perfect for my cousin who just graduated.

As for the monitor, I’m looking at Samsungs Syncmaster 23″ or ACER’s 22″ Widescreen.

Thanks to our gadgets, we can survive sleepless nights with our newborn. With our two ipods and one iPhone, my husband and I can past the time by watching movies, reading ebooks or playing games while we take turns in feeding, changing and rocking the baby back to sleep.

Sleep deprivation is so hard but with the help of these god-send gadgets, we can force ourselves to be wide awake. I mean, you wouldn’t want to fall asleep while burping the baby, would you? I was close to doing that while I was carrying the baby on the sofa bed. I thought I could close my eyes and get a few minutes of sleep but as I was about to doze off, I suddenly felt like the baby is sliding down from my arms. Luckily, I woke up in time but you can bet I’d never do such thing as napping again.
