Just Because You’re Pregnant Doesn’t Mean You Have to Wear Drab Clothes

Posted by admin on Feb 11, 2010 in fashion, shopping, women issues

No, I don’t need any weight loss pills. What I need are new clothes because my pre-pregnancy outfits don’t fit me anymore. Thanks to online shops like Old Navy, I can have a choice of affordable but still fashionable maternity clothes.

Just love this fab full-panel distressed boot-ct jeans for only $25.

And this lightweight pleated tunic for $15

These low-rise shorts are a must too especially now that Summer is just around the corner.

And lastly, I need a swim suit that will fit my growing belly. For only $17.50, I can still wear them a couple of months after giving birth. ;)

Two-Hour Baths

Posted by admin on Nov 6, 2009 in home, me, myself and i, shopping

I saw some really nice American Standard toilets online and just can’t help but dream about remodeling our bathroom. If ever I get a chance and if budget permits of course, I’m getting this claw foot bath tub too. It’s just so elegant and reminds me of Victorian era.

image

I don’t really want a vintage bathroom but this will be a nice touch for the modern style that I have in mind. Surrounded with white walls, warm bubbles and sunlight streaming into the windows, I can’t think of a better way to spend my afternoon. Well, aside from a free shopping spree at Barney’s or Louis Vuitton that is.

Long Baths

Posted by admin on Oct 22, 2009 in shopping

I was looking for jacuzzis when I came across walk in tubs. I liked the idea that our elders can still enjoy a long luxurious bath on their own. It has its own inward opening door so you can enter and exit the bath without climbing on it. No need to have someone accompany you when you take a bath. Just imagine what this small pleasure of being able to bath independently can do to parents / grandparents. I hope more innovative products like this will reach the market soon.

Goodbye To My New Point & Shoot

Posted by admin on Oct 16, 2009 in photos, shopping

I just bought my Canon Powershot a480 three weeks ago at a 0% promo discount. Why? Because I want to buy a new business phone on a 0% plan too and don’t think it’s practical to pay for two gadgets at installment basis. The total is ridiculously high and it makes me nervous that I need to pay that amount every month for one whole year.

I sold it to my brother-in-law who fell in love with the camera at first sight. Can’t blame him because I loved this digital camera a lot too except for a few shots taken inside our room. Either there’s too much noise or the shutter speed isn’t enough to take steady photos without flash. That is the most important thing when taking photos of kids.

It’s still a very good camera especially if you think about the price. Some of the shots are DSLR-worthy. I compared it with my shots with out Canon 40D and they are almost similar IF you’re shooting with plenty of light.

Other features: multi-face detection, several scenes to choose from including super macro, program mode – set up ISO, white balance, etc, high quality video (my favorite)

If you’re looking for a cheap but reliable cam, I highly suggest this one. In fact, if I stumble upon some extra cash, I’ll get a Canon Powershot a480 again.

Shopping for School

Posted by admin on Oct 16, 2009 in shopping

Now that I’m a working adult, I miss the excitement of buying new school supplies every start of a school year. I still remember the smell of new notebooks and books, the scented erasers and various shapes for paper clips and sharpeners. I have tried re-visiting that experience by purchasing new office supplies for my “home office” but it just wasn’t the same. There are no matching Hello Kitty pens and pencil case. The erasers look boring and dull and doesn’t smell good. Even the pens are neither fun nor colorful.

So you know what I ended up doing? I shopped for my little girl even though she’s not really in that stage where she’ll need a whole new set of pencil case, notebooks, scissors and what-not. They have perfectly good set of school items in school (they provide it to avoid kids fighting over cute things) and don’t really give parents a chance to hoard school supplies.

Make Over Bathrooms

Posted by admin on Oct 14, 2009 in home, me, myself and i, shopping, women issues

Ever wanted bathrooms like the ones in HGTV? I do! I think bathrooms are the second most important part of a house next to master’s bedroom. The bathroom almost always make or break our hotel options too. No matter how nice the bedrooms are, if the bath area is too cramped and have the possibility of flooding when you take a bath, it’s definitely a no-no.

This applies to our home right now. If you will see our bathroom, you’d be happy to spend hours in it reading a magazine or listening to music while having a long, fantastic bath. Yet I still can think of a few improvements if only we have enough budget to re-model.

If we’re talking about dream bathrooms, I’d definitely want to have a Jacuzzi like the ones being sold at betterbathrooms.com.

Shopping For a New Phone

Posted by admin on Oct 4, 2009 in money matters, online life, shopping, technology

Nothing can excite me the way a good online shopping deal can. The savings you can get from coupon codes and weekly sales are huge that you’d never want to shop anywhere else again. For my Christmas present, I was looking to upgrade my phone to any kind of Blackberry. And just my luck, I found plenty of Cellular Factory coupons from the Coupon Trunk website.

image With so many options to choose from, I now have no idea what to get. I’ve always wanted a Nokia N97 but the Blackberry that I want is just much cheaper even after the discounts. I may have to test both phones this weekend at our local mall before deciding on anything. At least, my Cellular Factory coupons can guarantee that I’m getting the best deal whatever my choice will be.

Itchy Fingers

Posted by admin on Oct 2, 2009 in freelancing, me, myself and i, shopping

I am itching to shop online! Can someone please stop me? I kept getting these unexpected projects and whenever I finish and get paid, all I can think about is where to spend them. I should be saving all of them so we can pay off the loan we took two months ago. I promised myself it will be fully paid before the year ends but I honestly didn’t know I may be able to actually do it. I should probably treat ourselves by spending 30% of my earnings and save the other 70%. It’s definitely a win-win situation no matter where you look. We can still save money without depriving ourselves.

But while writing this, I realized I may be overthinking this a bit. I’m still high from getting all these projects and might have to wait for the urge to spend to die down before buying anything.

Affordable Shopping

Posted by admin on Sep 17, 2009 in money matters, shopping

Now that Circuit City has closed its doors, Buy.com is now the first on my list of online shops selling affordable electronics. Their Weekly Deals are just fantastic – great products, ridiculous prices, too good to be true. And I have no problem with it. In fact, I encourage them to continue their special offers as it’s the only way I’ll get to afford all the things that I want on my list of things to buy.

image  image image

Just to give you an idea. ;) And that’s just for the electronics section! I still have the apparels, shoes, baby stuff, books, jewelries and home accessories to explore.
