My Home Office – In Progress

Posted by admin on Apr 14, 2011 in home, work

Just finished listing the office supplies that I need to purchase before June. I am slowly turning a corner of our room into an actual office space so I want to make sure that I have everything that I need aside from my computer table and chair. There are tons of organizer sets that are designed to maximize space plus more shelves for the walls. Our room isn’t that big but it’s spacious enough that we can have a small sofa plus a small office space. However, my goal is to have something similar to these:

Facial Care

Posted by admin on Apr 3, 2011 in home, women issues

Once you get rid of blackheads, you can eliminate acne. At least that’s what it said from the article that I read. My friend will be happy to know this as she has been constantly battling with both acne and blackheads. Luckily for me, I only have blackheads to worry about. Still, mine are so bad that I sometimes avoid looking in the mirror. I make sure not to go out of the house without at least a thin layer of foundation or concealer. I knew I should’ve listened to my mother when she used to nag me into doing the cleanse-tone-moisturize bit when I was on my 20s. But it’s no use wondering what could’ve been. At least I am doing my best to protect my skin now, compared to doing nothing at all. I promise to educate my two daughters in the future as well on the benefits of early skin care.

Birth Celebrations

Posted by admin on Mar 14, 2011 in entertainment, home

I love receiving baby shower invitations. Aside from the cards being too cute for words, I always feel honored whenever I am asked to share a special occasion such as baby showers, birth and baptism. So it’s no surprise that I am designing one for a friend who’s about to give birth next month. Of course, she has no idea that we are throwing a party for her. We are all keeping it hush-hush. I’m sure she has an idea because they did throw one for me as well. Still, even if she does know that we’re cooking something, she wouldn’t know where or when. Her husband, which is also a dear friend of mine will be taking her to dinner and when they come home, she will be welcomed with balloons, little booties stringed together and plenty of smiling faces. I can’t wait!

This Week’s To-Dos

Posted by admin on Feb 6, 2011 in health, home, money matters

Finish reading the colon cleanse review that my cousin sent me. I need to make a decision on whether I will have my husband try the promo that is being offered to us.

Go window shopping for a 2nd hand car online. We don’t have the budget YET nor able to sell our car but it doesn’t hurt to know the current going rate for what we need.

Submit my daughter’s big school application form and schedule her entrance exam.

Talk to our insurance agent to get some quotes for pension plan and educational plan.

A Late Surprise

Posted by admin on Jan 8, 2011 in home

My brother received a box of 25 of fuente cigars which he’s now sharing with my husband. Although they both quit smoking, they try to enjoy smoking cigars occasionally. And what better way to celebrate than receiving a free box of premium cigars! They will be saving it up for future occasions but according to the first two that they tried, it was really good. Definitely separates the men from the boys. :)

Living with Boys

Posted by admin on Dec 20, 2010 in home, me, myself and i

Wow. Seeing my brother-in-laws cheer and shout while watching wrestling (or any type of sport for that matter) is giving me a migraine. You must wonder why I torture myself. Our master bedroom is being cleaned in time for the holidays so we’re all staying in the entertainment room with my girls. It’s the only room available that has air-conditioning so we all have to share. Of course, my daughter couldn’t care less, what with her toys and other paraphernalia. But even if I want to sleep on the extra bed, I just can’t because of the noise. I hope they will finish our room in a few hours so I can get some peace and quiet.

Space Saver Fans

Posted by admin on Nov 24, 2010 in home, web sites

For Christmas, we’re thinking of shopping for ceiling fans as a gift for my mother-in-law. I overheard her talking to the cleaning lady how she never has enough space in her office. I know one of the culprit is her huge industrial fan so if we can take that away, the space will be enough for a new set of bookshelves. I know it doesn’t seem like a great holiday gift but after giving her presents that she never uses for the past five years, we know a ceiling fan is something that she will truly appreciate. Best of all, there are tons of really quality but affordable fans from American Home Plus that we may have to shop some for our rooms too.

The Boombox

Wow. I didn’t know portable radios are now cheap! When I was in high school, it was my dream to have one so I can bring it to school and use it for our dance rehearsals. Only it was too expensive back ten and there aren’t too many options. Now, aside from portable ones, you can use iPods or any MP3 players, plug in a speaker and voila! Instant sound system whether you’re in a small party or a school production. Kids are really lucky these days as they have access to technology without having to put a dent on their (or their parents’) wallet.s

Safe Baths

Posted by admin on Oct 27, 2010 in home, shopping

Our baby just turned over on her own yesterday. I got so excited I forgot to take photos! It also made me realize that she will be mobile soon so we can’t leave her on the bed unattended anymore. This morning, I asked our helper to unearth all our babyproofing items including the ones for the electric sockets, door knobs, bath tub and door stoppers.  Some of them couldn’t be found anymore so we’ll have to make sure to purchase a new set before our little one can crawl. A quick search on the net and I saw that there are now newer models and even more items that can ensure your baby’s safety. I doubt we’ll need all of them since we have our own helper and that I work from home.

But just to be sure, I’ll get some of these. They are too cute so I couldn’t resist.
