Invitations St Patrick's Day Party
Whenever I see leprechauns, I can’t help but think about their pot of golds. Since most of them (leprechaun or gold) are always present in St Patricks Invitations, I often wish that each invitation I receive will bring me good luck. And I do receive tons of St Patricks party invitations every year. My friends love to party and party hard they do! Even if we’re all non-irish, we never let this special day pass without at least a couple of good beers in our hands. Read more…

Welcome to the October 6th edition of Tuesday Couch Potatoes, where we post about a movie each week. This week’s theme is Fantasy Adventure. If you love elves, orcs, talking animals, and Middle Earth, never before seen worlds, heroes that only come alive in your dreams, and of course, happy endings, then come join us this Tuesday! It’s fun!
I love Fantasy movies and I could name at least twenty on top of my head. There’s LOTR, Chronicles of Narnia, Stardust to name a few. However, since we only need to choose one, I’d say nothing can beat the Harry Potter series. I’ve never really liked the movie until my daughter started showing interest. To think she was only two and a half years old that time. She enjoys watching The Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets but can also stand the scarier ones like Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire. She knows all the characters, scenes, dialogues and musical score.
If I have to pick one from the series, it would be Goblet of Fire. I love how Voldemort finally appeared and that you can feel that the battle is about to start. What I also like about HP is that the hero is very good at what he does. The main character is usually weak at first and always had to be saved by his friends / protectors. But not Harry, from the first book to 7th, he was always the one who ends up killing the villain.
Too bad the next two movies – Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince were half-baked for me.

Today’s theme at Tuesday Couch Potatoes is Robot/Cyborg movie. If you love human beings turned robots or love the idea of a future with robot or robots in the law enforcement or just plain science fiction, then come join us this week.
Mine will be Artificial Intelligence:AI (2001).
David is 11 years old. He weighs 60 pounds. He is 4 feet, 6 inches tall. He has brown hair. His love is real. But he is not. A highly advanced robotic boy longs to become “real” so that he can regain the love of his human mother.
This Steven Spielberg movie was very disturbing for me. In fact, every robot story is. But still, it poked my heart in so many ways it always leave me crying.
Another is I, Robot (2004) starring Will Smith.
This is the year 2035. Everybody in the world relies on a huge system of robots, which are programmed specifically to help humans and not harm them in any way. But one person does not think that robots are helpful. Chicago homicide detective Del Spooner. but one day, he received a call from the United States Robotics (USR) about a recent death of renowned robot scientist Dr. Alfred J. Laning. Spooner immediately blamed this incident on robots without justifiable reason or proof. Then, he begins his investigation on Lanning’s death, only to discover Sonny, a “unique” robot. What Spooner does not realize, is that something is about to happen. Something that is beyond even spooner’s wildest dreams.

This week’s theme at Tuesday Couch Potatoes is Your Favorite Disney Fairytale Movie.
Hands down, it’s Aladdin.
Aladdin, a street urchin, accidentally meets Princess Jasmine, who is in the city undercover. They love each other, but she can only marry a prince
He was my first crush at 13 and I remember watching the movie 4x in the big screen. Since then, I couldn’t get his facial features out of my mind and vowed that I will marry someone with his looks and humor. And if you know my husband, I guess you can say say I did marry one just like Aladdin
I just wish he had a genie too haha.
Here’s my favorite scene (where Aladdin asked Jasmine if she trusts him) and song. Even now, years later, I still get excited and all mushy whenever I hear “A Whole New World”.

Too skinny is not only unhealthy but also ugly. Admit it! Specially designed clothes might look nice on ultra-thin models on the runway but men like girls with a little more meat on them. So try not to be obsessed in finding the best diet pills and focus on how you can lead a healthy life instead.
Having said that, I am totally digging Mischa’s look now. She looks healthy and less spacey too, which is probably because she’s so lucky to have landed a new show after her long hiatus.
I wish I could say the same for Jessica Stroup of 90210. She still looks like she could use a few trips to the sandwich bar. And a pizza joint. Or better yet, have Krispy Kreme deliver choco glazed doughnuts to her dressing room daily.

Reading colon cleansing reviews as I’ve heard nothing but raves about this. A friend of mine have been urging me go check out this new procedure but the process itself still scares me.
I’m going out to buy a birthday gift for my daughter. It’s just a couple of small things as we already gave her the big gift (a motorcycle) last week. Still, I can’t help but become excited because who wouldn’t want to play hooky on a work day to go shopping?
When I get home, I’ll probably be too tired to work so I’m going to catch up on my list of movies to watch. My daughter loves watching romance and comedy movies with me so I consider this our bonding moment too.

The Husband is all set for this month’s F1 race in Singapore. He’s purchased all kinds of Ferrari merchandise save for Ferrari parts and have been practicing shooting in various modes. We won’t be coming with him for several reasons so I hope he’ll enjoy his very own “alone time”. He’s like a kid who’s about to see the circus the first time. We’re so lucky that for being able to snag tickets as early as day 1 (while they’re still cheap), got very affordable airfare and free accommodation thanks to our friend Tereeza who lives there.

Today’s theme is Sandra Bullock Movies. If you are among the many who enjoys watching her movies, then come join us this week!
My Sandra Bullock movie would be The Lake House.
A lonely doctor who once occupied an unusual lakeside home begins exchanging love letters with its former resident, a frustrated architect. The two are introduced and share correspondence across the years by leaving letters in a mailbox at the lake house they have both lived in at separate points in time. They must try to unravel the mystery behind their extraordinary romance before it’s too late.
This is actually a re-make of the Korean movie Il Mare. Although I always find the Korean versions much better than its American counterparts, The Lake House entertained me better than Il Mare. I was literally on the edge of my seat while waiting for Alex (Keanu’s role) to appear at the lake house and prove that the letter arrived just in time.
