There are a few things that only happen to people once in a lifetime. The prospect of proposing to your beloved is one of these things. In addition to being rare, proposing to your beloved is also something that you want to happen as perfectly as possible simply because of the extent to which you have emotionally invested in it.

As you most probably already know, one of the most crucial elements of any proposal is the engagement ring. This means that if you want to impress your beloved and propose in the best way possible, you should do so with a perfect engagement ring. However, choosing engagement rings could be one of the most difficult tasks you ever have to undertake.

Fortunately, you can make this task easy for yourself if you devise a strategy for selecting the right engagement ring. In order to make the task easy for you, the following is a guide for choosing the right engagement ring.

1.  Choosing the metal:
One of the most crucial decisions for you would be the metal from which the ring is made. The majority of engagement rings are made of yellow gold. However, many modern engagement rings are even made of unconventional metals like silver, titanium and white gold. Your choice of metal would depend on a variety of things like your budget, your beloved’s preferences and even her allergies.

2.  Different colors of stones:
While the colorless diamond is the classic choice when it comes to engagement rings, the recent trends have even embraced colored diamonds, with the blue diamond being the most popular. It is worth mentioning that even though certain celebrities have endorsed colored diamonds, the majority of women would still prefer the eternal colorless diamond.

3.  Setting preferences:
The setting of the ring would also play a major role in your choice of engagement rings. Furthermore, this would also require you to know your beloved intimately. Women have different preferences when it comes to the setting of engagement rings. While some women like large and prominent settings, others like more subdued and subtle designs that do not hinder movement.
