Diamonds for the Girls

Posted by admin on Jan 26, 2010 in home, money matters

Was watching a show about loose diamonds last night and all I can think about is how beautiful they are. I want to own a one-carat diamond and when my husband heard this, he said, “I will buy you one”. As if it’s so easy haha. But seriously, I promised myself that I will invest on jewelries and diamonds especially now that I have two daughters who will inherit them.

Death

Posted by admin on Jan 25, 2010 in me, myself and i

Who wants to talk about funeral costs? Not me! But sadly at our age, topics like this appear when a parent dies. Face it, we are at a stage when people around us, our elders at least, are getting sick or dying. In fact, one of my friends lost her mom last year and all we can talk about when we see each other aside from her pain is the cost of the hospitalization and funeral. She mentioned you wouldn’t care about money once you’re in the situation. That you’ll do what you can to save the one you love. I really hate talking, even thinking about things such as death but I guess we really need to be ready for the future and beyond.

More Women With Curves

Posted by admin on Jan 25, 2010 in fashion

I know you’re tired of seeing size 0-2 ladies on this blog so without further ado, here’s a collection of Real Women. ;) Now if we can just look as confident as they are, we’d be totally hot too!

Size Doesn’t Matter

Posted by admin on Jan 20, 2010 in entertainment, fashion, health

I am done talking about the most effective diet pill. It’s time we live healthy by eating the right diet, exercising regularly and not obsessing about anorexic figures. Take a look at Jennifer Love Hewitt’s curves here and her suggestion to women with curves.

To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist,” she wrote, “put on a bikini — put it on and stay strong.

Okay, she still looks hot but you get what I mean. We don’t need to be a size 0 to look beautiful!

Online

Posted by admin on Jan 19, 2010 in fashion, online life

Getting insurance quote online is so easy. No need to meet with agents personally or visit several insurance companies just to compare quotes. This is what I love about the Internet. Everything is just so convenient that if you choose, you don’t have to leave the house ever. I’ve seen some people had groceries brought to their houses so you won’t get hungry as well.

Best of all, you can shop all you want from the comforts of your home. And speaking about shopping, I’m thinking of getting these.

Oh My

Posted by admin on Jan 14, 2010 in home

Overheard the neighbors letting their househelp have it. I’m not one to eavesdrop but the lady of the house was screaming her lungs out and I could not help but hear. Apparently, the poor girl put a kettle on and went out for what was supposed to be a quick stop at the nearby supermarket to get some acne skin products. Now, she happened to bump into a friend and they ended up talking for the better part of an hour. This next part’s fairly obvious. Water in kettle dries up, kettle is scorched, small fire starts on stovetop, neighbor smells smoke and calls security, security breaks into the house and puts out fire, poor girl is unable to explain burn marks on expensive stove.

Today’s Major Task

Posted by admin on Jan 12, 2010 in health

Need to get all the papers we’ve accumulated over the years in order. There are tons of them: receipts, certificates, insurance policies, etc. I opened the drawer where we keep them and they literally spewed out. I also need to read up on a product a friend of my mother’s offered to her. It’s a supplement that reputedly targets abdominal fat and is called relacore. We’ll see what I can dig up about it. Will be channeling my OC tendencies to get through this chore.

Just love Emma Watson’s look in this Burberry ad. Too bad her right leg had to be amputated!

Monthly Adventures

Posted by admin on Jan 7, 2010 in me, myself and i, travel

A friend of mine vacationing in myrtle beach got home with a very bad case of sunburn. She looks like an oompa-loompa except she’s tall and very slim. I guess she got used to the sun in the Philippines and thought her already tan-skinned body can stand the harsh rays. Good thing she’s still on vacation so she can recuperate at home. This friend of mine always ends up having a “situation” whenever she goes out of the country. No matter how many times I tell her to research about the country, she’d still rather rough it. At least, she’s having the time of her life by getting these little adventures.

More Space

Posted by admin on Jan 4, 2010 in technology

I thought I won’t need to buy anything at least until April when it’s time to shop for the baby. However, just found out that I’m running out of disk space on my main machine. I need to invest on new hard drives to back up my old projects and digital photos worth 40GB.

image Luckily, I found this Seagate FreeAgent Desktop 1TB External Hard Drive for $120.59 online. It will be perfect for all my photos, scrap booking kits, graphic designs and projects dated three years ago. My husband’s movies will have to be moved there as well so he’ll have more space on his laptop.

I know I’m not supposed to spend anything but this is an urgent need and we can maximize both of our computers if we clean up old and unused files.
