Ideas Online

Posted by admin on Dec 27, 2009 in web design, web sites

I’m loving the designs of point of purchase displays from the creativedisplaysnow.com website. They inspire me a lot and would definitely make my job easier when I start on my project this January. I’m really thankful for the Internet especially Twitter because I learn so many things with just a couple of clicks. Of course, there are plenty of ways that we can get inspired – a simple walk in the neighborhood, a nice fabric from a store or an interesting shape from our coffee can start a barrage of ideas. However, for someone like me who spends all her time in front of the computer, the Internet is really my best friend.

Now that Christmas is over …

Posted by admin on Dec 26, 2009 in me, myself and i

and the gifts have been given away, shipped and delivered, it’s time for me to think about my New Year’s resolution. I promise to blog about it so I won’t forget. I need a constant reminder especially if it comes to spending. For now, I am enjoying the remains of the holidays and hope that I didn’t gain too much weight from all that eating. :)

Hope you are all having a wonderful time wherever you are.

Setting Up For the Future

Posted by admin on Dec 25, 2009 in health, home, money matters

It’s the end of the year again. If there’s one thing that’s always constant, it will be my email receiving offers for free life insurance quotes. I’d be happy to take them all up on their offers if only I wasn’t still paying for my insurance policy. Maybe next year when baby #2 comes, we might need another set with him/her as the beneficiary. Plus I’ll only have a few years left to pay for the first one so the total of the premiums will significantly lower. If you still don’t have one though, I suggest checking out any life insurance companies on the web. It’s better to be prepared for the unknown especially if you’re a parent or have someone depending on you.

Working on my own

Posted by admin on Dec 23, 2009 in online life, work, working at home

I’m so glad that I don’t have to find a job even when the company I was working for last March decided to close shop. With so many projects coming in now that I’m a freelancer, my schedule is as busy as when I’m working full time. I like to thank my loyal clients who not only give me projects almost every month but never fails to recommend me to their friends and colleagues. I could say that most of my projects now are through word of mouth. I don’t even advertise and yet I receive plenty of requests which makes me feel so blessed. It helps that I have finally updated my portfolio site so I also receive a few offers from that as well. The best of all, I manage my own time and don’t need to answer to anyone’s rules.

Health Friendly Cleaning

Posted by admin on Dec 11, 2009 in home

My mother-in-law is thinking of investing on a steam cleaner. Ever since she saw this show about environmental friendly appliances, it’s all she can think about. I checked the site she mentioned (as she still doesn’t know how to surf the web) and found the steam cleaners she was talking about. This product is supposed to replace the harsh chemicals that we used to clean our house. By using a little water and little electricity, you can clean your whole house without resorting to harmful cleansers. Plus the best of all, cleaning with vapor can help stop colds and flus. Now if that’s true, I’m going to give my mother-in-law my thumbs up so she can get one for the house.

A Long List

Posted by admin on Dec 9, 2009 in home

I was supposed to be done with my Christmas list but something just kept being added every week. Just now, I found out that we’re attending two baptism parties so I’ll have to buy more presents. In addition to Christmas gifts, I need to buy some stuff for the house as well. There’s the computer table that I’ve been eyeing for so long, air filters for the two rooms, new pots and pans to replace the burnt ones and curtains and bed sheets if budget still permits. It’s going to be a new year after all so time to replace old items especially if bed bugs and mites have been living on them for years.

10 Great Things About the Holidays

Posted by admin on Dec 7, 2009 in online life

1. Holiday feasts everywhere you go.

2. A reason to spend money on gifts, clothes and things you’d normally wouldn’t buy but because it’s Christmas, you can.

3. Year-end bonuses.

4. Parties – booze and more food!

5. Kids caroling or performing in school for this special season.

6. Family reunions – seeing people you only see every year or two years. Having the oldies gush on how old you are and feel old seeing kids grow up as well.

7. Buying, wrapping and giving gifts to everyone. The gift of giving has never been truer for me.

8. Lots of dinner shows and events both for the family and kids.

9. Fireworks.

10. A chance to start anew next year.
