Your Gossip Girls Are Back!

Posted by admin on Aug 17, 2009 in entertainment

Things to look out for:

imageBlair mixing with downtown people. She’s on a totally different league now that she’s going to attend NYU. Dan and Vanessa will go to the same school but they are in much better position because they are now among their people.

Jenny will start her reign as Queen Bee and not sure what to do with her new power. Talks of her fashion career doing a comeback is in the works.

Dan romancing Hilary Duff’s character (Olivia Burke)

Chuck still hanging around with Blair but no talks about him going to school. Since he inherited everything, he will focus on being en entrepreneur.

Serena will stir up trouble, lock lips with Carter Baizen and hook up with designers.

This is just one of the shows that I’m looking forward to watch. I’m a self-confessed TV addict now and thinking of buying a new tv stand to save some space in our “entertainment room”. Too bad one we can’t watch TV in our room while our daughter is sleeping. Which is why we need to take turns in watching in the other room while one of us stays with the sleeping bambina. Thank God for iPod Video too.

How To Make Money From Your Vacant Lots

Posted by admin on Aug 9, 2009 in money matters

Turn your vacant lots into a temporary parking space. This will only work if you are near the city where parking spaces are rare.

I just read an article on how you can earn money from your land by leasing it to a cell tower company. You might want to look into this if there are no existing cellular towers within one mile of your location.

Plant Christmas tree saplings and in about two years, you can have people come in and cut their own trees.

If it’s far from the city, lease it for grazing cattle or hoses.

Make a football field, build tennis courts  and lease it to companies for their sports activities.

Manic Monday #176

Posted by admin on Aug 8, 2009 in just for fun

When and with whom was your first kiss?
My classmate when I was on first-grade. He gave me a quick kiss during our exchange gifts complete with snot. But the real one was from my first boyfriend in High School. Just a quick peck on the cheek too, very similar to my first grade experience but I remember being in heaven.

Do you believe that everything happens for a reason?
I try to or else we wouldn’t be able to cope if something doesn’t go right.

What would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
“Ready to party?” That’s because I believe that Heaven is a place where it can be what you want it to be. Since I love to party, it’s going to be a hip club 24/7 :D

Reel and Real

Posted by admin on Aug 8, 2009 in home, work

I’m really having trouble juggling offline work from my online tasks. But I’ve found a way to mix both depending on which client I’m dealing with. Just this morning, my client talked about his Pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney during our meeting and it was all I can do not to snooze. I should be cleaning up closet for another garage sale but he insisted on having a meeting where he got sidetracked discussing with his partner about motorcycles. Not wanting to disturb them, I put the mike on mute and turned the speaker on while I continue cleaning up the mess in our room.

Photohunt: Low

Posted by admin on Aug 7, 2009 in photos

This week’s topic is a bit harder than usual. You’ll see from the photo that my daughter and I are on the “low” side of the see-saw while my husband takes the photo from the “high” end.

Breathing Space

Posted by admin on Aug 7, 2009 in me, myself and i, women issues, working at home

My plans of renovating our room is still on hold (see here). However, my husband and I made progress in cleaning up our hallway. I haven’t taken any photos yet but everything looks much better now. The books in the bookshelves inside our room can now breathe because I moved half of the contents to the new racks and placed them in the hallway. At first I wanted to categorized the books from favorites to not-so-used to dust gatherers but it was taking me too long. I ended up getting them in tens and just stacked them in any order.

But really, what I want to achieve is this.

*from http://ffffound.com/

My husband promised that we will do this as soon as we move to a bigger place next year. I’m excited! If we’re lucky, I might have a chance to get my own work area too.

Life’s a Beach

Posted by admin on Aug 5, 2009 in travel

image My friend sent me a link to panama city hotel deals this morning. She said they are planning to say for five days there and even asked my help on what kind of suit she should buy. This after I just proclaimed that I have no budget to go on a trip this year. It’s her way of making my life miserable even if she lives on the other side of the planet. However, I recall doing something similar two years ago when she couldn’t even afford a cheap out-of-town trip because she just moved to a new flat. So I guess we’re even now. And to be honest, I do enjoy browsing through these travel websites. It’s a great motivation to save up for our next beach escapade.
