Today’s theme is Sandra Bullock Movies. If you are among the many who enjoys watching her movies, then come join us this week!
My Sandra Bullock movie would be The Lake House.
A lonely doctor who once occupied an unusual lakeside home begins exchanging love letters with its former resident, a frustrated architect. The two are introduced and share correspondence across the years by leaving letters in a mailbox at the lake house they have both lived in at separate points in time. They must try to unravel the mystery behind their extraordinary romance before it’s too late.
This is actually a re-make of the Korean movie Il Mare. Although I always find the Korean versions much better than its American counterparts, The Lake House entertained me better than Il Mare. I was literally on the edge of my seat while waiting for Alex (Keanu’s role) to appear at the lake house and prove that the letter arrived just in time.

This means it’s time to save up so we’ll have enough money to buy gifts for our loved ones this Christmas. Since we just made a huge purchase though, we’ve decided to cut down on our “gifts budget”. This year, we’ll only shop for ourselves (me, my daughter and my husband) and just give cash to our godsons and goddaughters. I have a budget of $500 for all of us and I’m hoping it will still go down with the help of online discounts and coupons.
The BER months also means that our annual payables will start coming in. December is the most expensive month of our year because that’s the time we renew our policies, life insurance, car insurance, and many more. Which gives me more reason to save and not splurge on gifts. As long as my daughter and husband have nice clothes, I’d be happy.

No work, a conversation with my daughter and the ocean within reach.

Basing on this blog’s theme, you’ll see that I’m more the cluttered desk type. But after seeing these oh-so-clean workstations, I’m thinking of organizing mine. An organized workplace might do me a bit of good. When it’s hard to conceptualize, all I have to do is look at my immaculate work area and I bet inspiration will come. I hope!

money matters,
shopping
My brother-in-law asked me this morning how much does he have to save before he can buy himself a laptop. I told him if he stops drinking starbucks coffee everyday and eat at McDonalds instead of high-end restaurants, he may have a chance to buy one before the year ends. You’d think if he can afford to go to Starbucks everyday that he can at least buy himself one of those cheap netbooks available everywhere. But no, because of his expensive lifestyle, he’d be lucky to have a few dollars left at the end of the month. I’m sure my mother-in-law will pity him soon as long as she doesn’t know how he’s been spending his school allowance.

online life,
working at home
I have had many co-workers who either got fired or resigned because telecommuting is not for them.
Here are the reasons:
It’s just too boring. There’s no looking forward to having a nice lunch with friends. No after office shopping sprees with your girlfriends. No gossips in the pantry area.
It can get really hot at home. I can’t afford to turn on the airconditioner the whole day especially if it needs to be on at night too. Imagine yourself working while sweating or breathing hot air from your monitor.
The bed is just a few steps away. It seems to call your name every hour.
Lots of great movies to watch during day time. TV shows included. The next thing you know, it’s five o’clock and you’re so far from done.
For single people – no chance to meet someone new.
There are so many excuses that you can come up with why you weren’t able to finish your job. There was a brown out, your internet went down, your PC crashed, you had a virus, your phone line is not working, it’s too hot, you’re too lazy, you slept too late.

1. This will always be my number one. He should be attractive, at least to me. I must fancy him so bad I wouldn’t be able to sleep.
2. Responsible. Has good work ethics.
3. A sense of humor. I love laughing and my guy needs to be able to tolerate my addiction to comedy films and TV shows. He must find amusement in the silliest things.
4. Must be artistic. If he’s not, it’s okay. But most of the guys I liked almost always do something creative. My husband writes and breathes music, by the way which is why I fell for him.
5. Passionate in whatever he does.
6. Likes clothes. It may not be the latest trend or fashionable but must know how to tell quality.
7. Food lover. I just love eating.
8. Patient with kids.
9. Must be fun to be with. I don’t like strict and uptight guys. Plus how else can he play with our children if he’s not a kid at heart.
10. Most important of all – a good heart.

Snagged this from E-Online’s sneak peek.
Okay, so he isn’t that bad when he finally got his haircut. I can’t remember Bela saying “You’re so beautiful” to Jacob though. Do you?
