How To Age Gracefully Part I

I came across this article and thought of sharing this with my very young friends.

Try this exercise in photo-gazing if you feel bad about your ageing body

1. Gather together some photographs of yourself at different ages. Ideally, every five years.

2. Take a look at how you looked at different stages of your life. What did your face look like? Did all the haircuts suit you? As dispassionately as possible, ask yourself which styles and colours suit you best.

3. Make a list of three good points and three not-so-special ones for each decade up to the present day.

4. Take note that even in your youth you had bits you didn’t like. Now discard that list of faults; you don’t need it any more.

5. Focus on your list of your great points,which can be used whenever you feel low in confidence or are having a bad hair day. And don’t feel ashamed about keeping the list in your purse or handbag so that you can refer to it at will and remind yourself that, really, you’re doing all right.

The article is so right on item #3. Although I feel like I have the time of my life when I was younger, I still believe that I have the advantage of being wiser now. I am a better version of myself ten years ago not only because I’m a parent but also because of the bad decisions I’ve made and the knowledge that I can make a difference with my actions no matter how small my role is.

Mustang Site

I stumbled upon this site selling Ford Mustang Parts while looking for inspirations for a car web site design. I then remembered that a friend of mine who owns an old model will be celebrating his birthday soon. I’ve decided to check out the prices thinking that any accessories from the site could be a great present. The site claims that they have 110% low price guarantee so I was positive that I will find something nice for him. The products are cheaper, that’s for sure. Still, the only thing I can afford are air fresheners for $19.99 a piece. They have fog lights for only $62 but that’s too much for me. I guess the best gift that I can give him is just forward him the site so he can do his own shopping. The savings that he will get from the site should be counted as my present already.

Thankful

Let me borrow a page from my always cheerful friend. She always lists down things that she’s thankful for everyday in order to attract more.

I am thankful for cable. Without it, I won’t be able to focus on my work. My daughter likes to turn it on as a background sound while she’s playing. When she gets bored with what she’s doing, she’ll watch her shows.

Cream cheese with onion and chives. It’s just the best breakfast, snack and lunch. Now I’m not sure how wise it is to eat that all the time especially now that I’m trying to lose weight but what the heck!

My music collection. I have a special song when I’m designing, another song when programming and a different song when doing mindless tasks on my computer.

Cheap DVDs. Whenever I need to take a break or escape, a 30-minute show will do the trick.

Friends who never fails to call, email and comment on my blogs. It’s nice to know that someone is always thinking about you.
