Here’s another proof on how happy my clients are with my work. One of them learned from my other blog that I’ve been dying to have my own Macbook Pro. While chatting with that client this morning, he asked if I’m still looking for one. I said I can’t really afford the one that I really like but I’d be happy to settle with a refurbished item from The Apple Store.

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo – $1,499
15.4-inch widescreen display
2GB memory
120GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 128MB of GDDR3 memory
Built-in iSight Camera

OR

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo – $1,699
15.4-inch widescreen display
2GB memory
200GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 memory
Built-in iSight Camera

The great thing about this is that these items are covered by Apple’s one-year limited warranty. And the best thing is that my client wants to help me with the purchase by splitting the cost in half.

Time to rejoice right? But I’m not jumping for joy just yet. For one, I’ve read plenty of bad reviews on refurbished items and two, I’m not sure if I can even afford half of the payment. I do have the money set aside but I can think of plenty of things that I can spend it with – more travel, new furniture, insurance payments, etc.

But we’ll see. My client will shop for refurbished items first and he’ll keep me posted on the prices.
